Personal and Professional Development
Membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is a living & learning experience for women with shared values & objectives. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities & to use your unique talents & knowledge to contribute to the chapter & the community. Zeta women develop leadership skills by attending seminars and by holding officer & committee positions within the chapter & various levels of Zeta Leadership. We are a role models for the Sorority’s youth & adult affiliate groups.
Zeta Phi Beta encourages all women to learn & grow in the spirit of sisterly love & friendship.
Types of Membership
125,000+ College-educated, dynamic, community service driven, diverse & professional women
Undergraduate: Initiated members currently pursuing a baccalaureate degree
Graduate: Initiated members who have obtained at least 1 undergraduate degree
Honorary: Initiated members identified by the International body of the Sorority, Inc. for providing exemplary service to the community through their service or profession
Beta Iota Zeta membership may be attained by Transfer, Reclamation, or New Member Initiation
Transfer: Any financial member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. may transfer her membership from an existing undergraduate or graduate chapter into Beta Iota Zeta Chapter.
Reclaim: Any member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. who has been inactive for two (2) or more years may reactivate her membership in the Sorority through Beta Iota Zeta Chapter during a designated Reclamation Period as dictated by National Headquarters.
Transfer/Reclaim Requirements: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. membership card and/or membership number and a signed ‘transfer reference card’ or a ‘notarized statement of good standing’ indicating you left a previous chapter in good standing, with appropriate fees paid. Transferred & Reclaimed Sorors should fill out and submit a Soror Information Sheet.
New Member
New membership into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is by invitation only. Participation or volunteering at events sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is voluntary and does not guarantee membership acceptance.
New Member Requirements: Candidates for new membership into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. must hold a degree from a four-year accredited college or university and have not previously accepted membership within another National Pan-Hellenic Council organization.
Adult Auxiliaries
Zeta Amicae
Women who do not have college degrees, but have an interest in assisting local auxiliaries with activities. Currently there are over 175 Amicae groups in the USA.
